Join Sean Wai Keung and food/play/food for this workshop which will explore the taste, memories and place of vegetables.
About this event
In this workshop we’ll think, discuss and write about vegetables, as well as eat together and create a veg-themed zine.
Sean Wai Keung is a poet whose work often uses food as a starting point for explorations of identity and migration. His first full length poetry collection, ‘sikfan glaschu’, was published by Verve Poetry Press in April 2021.
Sean’s favourite vegetable is broccoli, a lot of which is related to the memories of his family cooking and eating it together. Steph from food/play/food loves potatoes because they're so robust, versatile and a good team player.
The workshop is suitable for participants aged 16 and above and the venue is wheelchair accessible. No writing or creative experience is necessary for this event. All materials will be provided.
The event will include a light vegetarian meal. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements upon booking your place.

This event is one of two as part of the Peas Please Veg Advocate Programme supported by The Food Foundation and Nourish Scotland.
Due to the intimate nature of this event, places for this workshop are limited, but to allow for greater participation we are also running a secondary online Creative Writing Workshop with Sean on Thursday 8th September.
